You may want to start your tour on The Ridge with one of LEGOLAND's most popular rides; The Sky Cruiser. Cycle or sit back as you enjoy the elevated views in these zany pedal cars. Kid Power Towers allows you to control your ascent as you "pull" yourself up the tower for a birds-eye view of the LEGOLAND park. Let it go for a "free-fall" down. You'll see the Imagination Zone near the entrance to LEGOLAND. For a thrilling, wet ride, be sure to join the Aquazone Wave Racers where you power ski through waves and dodge blasts from the water cannons. Rushmore, The Sydney Opera House, the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline. All created with LEGO bricks! Pile into a boat for the Coast Cruise and a floating tour through the heart of LEGOLAND on a 1.73 acre lake. You'll have the grand tour of the sites of Miniland and a chance to rest your feet! Carlsbad's Palomar Airport offers all sorts of exciting fares! Barn Storming Adventures offers Biplane flights, Air Combat Flights and Warbird Flights. and helicopter rides are all available here.

Beaches

A big attraction for Carlsbad are its beaches.
Carlsbad State Beach (aka Tamarack State Beach)with its four mile beach and jogging trails (one high on the bluffs and another and down at the beach), is popular for day use and BBQs. It's also close Carlsbad Village (the downtown area) on the top of the bluffs where you can grab something to eat. The beach is at the foot of Tamarack Avenue (head west from the I-5 exit).

South Carlsbad State Beach
has campsites on a cliff overlooking the beach. There's no day-use facilities, and it's more isolated than Tamarack State Beach, but anyone can use the beach for the day. Park on one of the nearby streets to the east. South Carlsbad State Beach is at the foot of Poinsettia Lane (head west from the I-5 exit).

Camping

Camping is the best way to be near the beach and hear the waves at night. Camping is available on bluffs overlooking the beach and ocean at South Carlsbad State Beach
